Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)

An essential course for persons required to test electrical items to prove their electrical safety within their organisation.

Course Objectives:
To give delegates the confidence and competence in the use of Portable Appliance Testers, recording data and the use of associated equipment.

Course Content:
•Electrical terminology and the principles of electricity
•Visual and combined testing
•Using different Portable Appliance Testers and data recording
•Labelling and recording
•Testing frequency
•Appliance cord sets and IEC leads
•Current Electrical legislation
• Guidance with Machine purchases

Who Should Attend?
Persons responsible for Portable Appliance Testing within their organisation, NOTE: Candidates do not need any previous electrical experience.

Assessment – Assessment is conducted through a number of practical exercises and a multiple choice examination test.

Please note: All our courses are delivered in English. All delegates must have a good understanding of written and spoken English to attend this course.

A Certificate of Training will be awarded to each successful candidate.

Duration 9.00am – 3.00pm approx, or courses on Tuesday & Thursday start 9.30am.   Tea and coffee supplied.   Lunch is not included, candidates to bring lunch with them.
